The Best of Carbie: A Playlist

If you have ever visited my blog from the computer, you’d have noticed that I have a playlist of some songs via Spotify to accompany my page. The range of music on the playlist is pretty crazy, but I wanted to give a little background as to how each song found its way onto my list! Here we go, the best of Carbie

  1. Bartier Cardi – Cardi B feat. 21 Savage

My Bronx bitch. My nickname came about at a rather unfortunate time with Cardi B breaking onto the scene when I deemed myself Carbie C. Yikes. Anyway,¬†I’m from the motherfuckin Bronx like my bad bitch Cardi, and so here she is gracing the playlist.

2. Drinkin’ Problem – Midland

It’s true, I’ve been told I have a drinking problem. And that’s okay, because I don’t think it’s a problem at all but a solution (thanks, Midland). A true banger in the country scene. Always makes me wanna take several shots of tequila. Can’t wait to see them in February with Little Big Town!

3. Gypsy – Fleetwood Mac

It was so hard picking one Fleetwood Mac song. Andinstead of picking Dreams or The Chain, I chose Gypsy. Because my girl Stevie fucking KILLS it. God bless ya.

4. Hallelujah – Jeff Buckley

A fucking classic. Yeah, they used this song in Shrek 2 (lol) but seriously, this song is just one of those that if you don’t at least know the chorus you might as well excuse yourself from my life. The sigh Jeff lets out at the beginning gets me prepared for six minutes of uninterrupted singing.

5. Lemon – N.E.R.D. feat. Rihanna

“The truth will set you free, but first it’ll piss you off.” My new fucking motto for 2018. This year, I’m not letting anything get in the way of my happiness in any capacity. I did a lot of self reflecting (thanks therapy) and this year is going to be 1 million times better than last year, starting with this great piece of advice.

7. Palace – Sam Smith

This song makes me cry each and¬†every time I hear it. Like, someone turns the faucet on and just lets it go and go and go and you get the point. Sam Smith, I love you, but you didn’t have to do me like this.

8. Blame – Calvin Harris feat. John Newman

I don’t know why, but I’ve been jamming to this song a lot recently. This song came out like, my sophomore year of college. I distinctly remembered because my plastered self would be standing the stage of the bar every student at my school went to belting the shit out of the lyrics. So thank you Calvin, for bringing me back to my darkest days.

9. Hotel California – Eagles

The defining moment of my life. I saw Eagles, Journey and Fleetwood Mac (also featured here!!!) this past summer at the Classic East tour. And before this song even began, I was in tears because I knew it was coming (it was their encore, fucking obviously). I have a deep connection with this song, one of the first songs I eve remember hearing and memorizing the words to. Thank you, Eagles, for shaping me.

10. Black – Dierks Bentley

This is my guy. Like, I can guarantee you any amount of money any upcoming show Dierks has anywhere remotely near my area I will be there. I literally bought into his fan club to get access to pre-sale tix for his upcoming tour (and I have 0 regrets). This is one of my favorite Dierks songs, mostly because it’ll be my first dance song. Love live Black.
